Attorney John Varney 

John Varney joined Cardaro & Peek in 2024 and brings extensive experience from the biotechnology industry. Prior to joining, he served as in-house counsel for a biotech company prosecuting patent infringement by some of the largest laboratories in the life science industry. Additionally, Mr. Varney served as the Director of Laboratory Operations where he supervised the development and implementation of novel non-invasive, prenatal genetic diagnostic tests. His research has been published in top medical journals including The New England Journal of Medicine and The Lancet.

Mr. Varney graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and was inducted into The Order of Coif, a prestigious law school honor society focused on excellence in legal education. John also maintains an active pro bono practice, providing legal guidance to low-income artists in the Baltimore area seeking to protect their works.
